Looking for a nice restaurant with great food and atmosphere in Columbus. We want to take some friends there as a thank you and would like some place special. Thank you.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will look them up on the Internet..location seems ideal since they live relatively close.

If you like steak, Mitchell's at 45 N 3rd is best of the local flavors. For tapas, consider Barcelona, also in German Village.

marksfour - should have mentioned that if you consider Lindey's, they have 3 dining rooms. The "back" one is the nicest. We ate there before a concert downtown. The meal and service were excellent.

Second Rigsby's on High Street.

And I can't help it, not much atmosphere, but awsome food, Schmidt's in German Village.

Thank you for such wonderful suggestions. The menus of some of the restaurants look amazing. I think our friends will be pleased when I suggest this great list of restaurants.
I am getting hungry....

Just an update...we went to dinner at BARCELONA in German Village and it was wonderful! The atmosphere, service, tapas, entrees and desserts were wonderful. the owner came to our table toward the end of our meal to chat and thanked us for coming to the restaurant.
Great outdoor dining area too.
Highly recommend!

I also vote for Rigsby's on High St. To be avoided: Rosendale's (also on High St.).
