Columbus, Ohio for Thanksgiving

Our trip to NY has been cancelled, looks like we may be spending Thanksgiving in Ohio with relatives. They don't like to cook so we are looking for a special spot for Thanksgiving Day lunch. We would also like a charming hotel in Columbus. (Our family lives in suburb of Powell, but we would probably like to stay in Columbus.)
We have never been to Ohio so any help would be great.
Thanks jwg

Try the Westin Great Southern Hotel, downtown Columbus or the Worthington Inn, Worthington. Both are refurbished 4 and 3 diamond hotels. And, be sure to visit Easton Town Center, COSI, the Festival of Trees at the Convention Center. Have fun!

I agree with the previous poster to visit Easton. There is also a wonderful new Hilton Hotel at Easton- I would suggest staying there. Easton is quite a complex- many restaurants, upscale shopping, lots of charm.

Old Worthington Inn-for food AND lodging, only 10 minutes from Powell and utterly charming.

I agree with Old Worthington Inn and they always have it and Worthington decorated so beautifully for the Holidays.

Jan-Some suggestions for family activities if you have time, the Ohio Historical Village, I-71 at the Fairgrounds has an old-fashioned Christmas celebration complete with carolers, roasting chestnuts etc. Ohio Village is a recreation of a frontier Ohio Town, very charming. The Columbus Zoo has it's winter wild lights show at night and outdoor ice skating if it gets cold enough, Old Worthington has many small charming shops, Festival of the Trees at the Convention Center is a showcase for beautiful, decorated Christmas Trees with proceeds benefitting Children's Hospital. And if the kids are totally bouncing off the wall you can let them go ice skating at either of the Chiller Indoor Skating Rinks.

Can anyone tell me more about the Festival of the Trees at the Convention Center? Thanx

The Festival of the Trees has hundreds of beautiful Christmas Trees decorated by professional floral designers, interior designers etc. They auction off the trees a couple of days before they go on display. All the proceeds benefit Children's Hospital in Columbus. If you are going to be in town Thanksgiving Weekend, I would not go the Friday after Thanksgiving as it is usually very crowded--go on Saturday or Sunday.
