Columbus, OH Quality of Life??

Again, MUCHAS GRACIAS for excellent advice, comments, bashes, raves, etc.
Bottom-line, Columbus is a good area for everything except surfing and volcano jumping...!!!
Well, I'm beached-out, so no problem there. In fact, when we do come back to the DR, we'll vacation at the beach resorts, something we hardly ever do now, 'cause we live here!
Our probable living area would be Powell (my bro-in-law lives there), and I've heard good things about it; in fact, Money Magazine just placed it #18 in nice living areas.
I'll miss a live-in maid, delivery from everything, but 24/7 energy, water, order, laws, good schools, parks, museums, libraries, etc. will EASILY make up for those "perks".
