COLUMBUS, MISSISSIPPI

HELLO FOLKS,

PerBayouGal, am posting this again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated for visiting the area of Columbus (not Columbia) MS. Any ideas for downtown? or good restaurants, or etc?

Thanks all!

You must have forgotten to highlight the state when you began this new thread. But that's okay, maybe it'll be topped often so you will get some responses. Good luck!

HI BG,

Guess I don't know what it means to "highlight the State"...But thanks for sticking with me!

If you can bypass Columbus do so and go to Natchez, MS. I live in MS and there's nothing to do in Columbus. There are a good many old antebellum homes to tour but no good restaurants to speak of. Natchez is a jewel.

We are spending a long weekend in Columbus to visit my son at the Air Force Base there. Is it possible to visit Natchez as a day trip?

Natchez is about 5 hours from Columbus. For day trips, look at Tuscaloosa and/or Birmingham, AL, Tupelo, MS, and points around Columbus. mapquest.com will give you distances, directions, and travel time for any locales that you are considering for day trips.
