The best I can do is probably this: http://www.columbiariverhighway.com/...er_highway.pdf. My particular favorites are Women's Forum Overlook, Crown Point, Wahkeena, and Oneonta Falls, but every place on that map is worth a stop. And several of the falls involve a walk or short hike - e.g. Wahkeena, Bridal Veil, Multnomah, Oneonta....

You planning on doing the Fruit Loop: http://www.hoodriverfruitloop.com/index.html ?

Eagle Creek Trail is fabulous. It is 12 miles, but is level the entire way. You pass by 7 or 8 nice waterfalls. Including Punch Bowl and then Tunnel Falls. Tunnel you pass behind it. Multnomas and Horsetail Falls are right on the hwy. Tons of other great hikes there as well. We did Eagle Creek in 6 hours last year. Fruit Loop and Mount Hood are great as well.

We were in the Gorge area last Wed. and enjoyed the short hike back to Wahkenna Falls. Horsetail Falls is visible from the road, there are steps down to the base of the Falls there. Multnomah is beautiful! If you like to wine taste, in Hood River we enjoyed Pheasant Valley and Cathedral Ridge. Full Sail Brewing is a nice place for a meal, we enjoyed watching the windsurfers after lunch. ***kim***

We find that the drive from Maryhill to Portland on the Washington side is much more scenic and pleasant than the drive on I-84. Living in Seattle, we take the WA-14 drive at least twice a year.

I forgot to mention, our favorite place to eat in Hood River by far is Celilo: http://www.celilorestaurant.com

It is also fun to walk up Oak Street after dinner for ice cream at Mike's.

Just did the Columbia River Gorge today and enjoyed the walk to Bridalveil Falls. Also Wahkeena (sp?). Last time, we walked to the top of Latourel Falls and enjoyed that. Multnomah is more crowded than the others. We did a bit of the Fruit Loop as well, and picked our own blueberries at Nelson's which was fun, inexpensive and incredibly tasty - much more so than store bought. Bought baked goods at Packers Orchard which were good, not great, but you can sample each of the cookies first! Also found good homemade huckleberry jam at Mountain View Orchard. We didn't get around to any of the other stops on the loop as we also drove up to Timberline Lodge for good views of Mt. Hood. There are hiking trails there for longer or quite short walks.
