Any suggestions for a place to stay while touring this area would be greatly appreciated. The mcmenamins Edgefield is booked the days we will be in the area. Thanks for

I've always liked the Columbia Gorge Hotel, as long as you're not too worried about being close to Portland. I'm a fan of the vibe of Hood River anyway...

If you are looking for the Edgefield price-range, Columbia River Gorge Hotel won't be your cup of tea.

We like the Best Western in Hood River--the town is delightful and the motel is right on the river. Some rooms have decks and river views.

The Vagabond, on the other side of town, is cheaper and has rooms with river views. It is popular and usually booked, but I've never stayed there.

If you want a small place right on the old scenic highway, look at Bridal Veil Lodge. Another place is the View Point Inn in Corbett.

Columbia Gorge Hotel is very nice, a historic proeprty with a great Farm Country breakfast in the morning. Have fun! ***kim*** ((f))
