Colorado-where should we stay?

Will be driving from Aspen, CO to Santa Fe NM in September. We have 3 full days to explore between those two places. We would like to include Mesa Verda (sp?) National
Park. Where should we stay overnight in between these points? Thought about staying in Telluride and Durango enroute to Santa Fe.... Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It depends on what you like to do and your budget. One very beautiful place is Ouray Colorado (Switzerland of America) and to stay at the Weisbaden which has its own hot springs pool. If you can afford it stay in the room with the rock wall. By the way it's "Mesa Verde" (Green Mesa)-very cool.

A second for staying at Ouray - my favorite place in Colorado. I would also recommend staying at the Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde.

Also - you don't have to start a new thread. It is better to just add to the one from yesterday. You were getting good responses on the other one.

beckers2482-When I started the other thread, it wasn't showing up on my screen so I thought I didn't click "POST MY REPLY" correctly. Now I see that thread did in fact "POST", so now I have 2 threads going, haha. But I always appreciate all the feedbacks, the more the better! Anyone know how far it is to drive from Mesa Verde to Taos, NM? Thank you..

Don't you just love how Fodor's doesn't work correctly half the time? :)
