Colorado or South Dakota/Family Vac.?

We live in Nebraska, and have taken family vacations to Estes Park,CO for last three years. Enjoy hiking, mtns., shopping for Southwest home decor. Have a 4yr old, and 1yr old. Trying to decide if we should go to Black Hills with them, Colorado Springs or Breckenridge area. Looking at traveling July-to early Aug. Any suggestions.

I'm partial to the '4-Corner' States (AZ, CO, NM & UT). I travel out there nearly every summer & have not seen it all yet & don't expect I ever will. I would go for Colorado Springs or even further into the SW, Durango. Lots to see & do all over the whole area.
Sorry if this is a duplicate but my browser 'tilted' & did not appear to post my first response. I am partial to the '4-Corner' States (AZ, CO, NM & UT). Consider Estes Park lovely but way too crowded. Would suggest Colorado Springs or even further into the SW like Durango. Lots to see & do all around State.
Would suggest the Black Hills Region. It's got a lot of family-friendly sites, such as Bedrock City. Colorado Springs is wonderful, one of my favorite places to visit, mind you -- but hiking in the mountains is NOT an ideal activity with a one-year-old.

Thanks for the responses. We have decided to do Colorado. Thought the kids might not fully understand the history behind the Black Hills. And we know our older daughter does LOVE the mountains. We hiked with her when she was 1yr, 2yr, and 3yrs. old, and understand the undertaking. But the kids always seem to do better in CO. Must be the great mountain air.
Now we need to map a route and see what would to see, any small towns not to miss?
