Colorado Hiking in August

Next month we will be at RMNP and looking for another town/base to head to for 4-5 days of hiking. We do not mind a long drive between the 2, but once at our second location, ideally we will not need to go to far each day. Honestly, we really do not care about other activities, shops, etc. Get up, hike, dinner, sleep, repeat is our basic schedule. An average distance for us would be 5-10 miles, but we can turn a 5 mile hike into an all day affair -- really just looking for hikes with great scenery. It seems like there are so many choices, I am looking for recommendations to narrow it down and make a choice.
Thank you in advance for suggestions!
