Colorado: Driving from Ft. Collins to Walden

Is the drive on Highway 14 from Ft. Collins to Walden worth a day out of nine days in Colorado?

Would it be a good idea to drive from Fr. Collins to Walden in the morning and back to Ft. Collins in the afternoon?

If not, where would be the logical place to spend a night after Walden?

Why Walden?? Should not comment since I have never been on that road. It goes through a national forest so it may be scenic.

That stretch of Highway 14 follows a designated wild and scenic river--the Cache la Pourdre. Walden is the end of the route.

It is a lovely drive and you can stop at the moose visitor center to see where moose might be seen. It is a curvy road though so not a fast drive. There are lots of hiking trails all along the Poudre Canyon.

Is it worth a day? Only you can decide given what other things are on your agenda.
