Cogway or other railroads for adults and kids?

Some people in our party are a bit afraid of heights. We are going to the Franconia area this August. Are any railroads still doable and fun? If so, please tell everything you could. WHat other areas should members of our party stay away from if they are not that height friendly?
Thanks
Ken

I would skip the Cog Railway. It's slow and the fumes and soot from the coal powered engines are awful.

Try the Conway Scenic Railway (reservations advised). If you want to go to the top of Mount Washington, best way is in a tour van. You'll see ads in the free literature once you arrive, or go to www.visitnh.gov
