Coeur d'Alene hotel advice please

I am setting up an elaborate road trip for next next fall. We will be traveling through Coeur d'Alene next September with our dog. Of course the Resort on the lake looks terrific, the least expensive room is $300 per night plus a $50 fee for the dog. We cannot justify the expensve for a one night stop over.

At the moment the Resort City Inn sounds the best of the group located in town. The location sounds ideal and the comments are quite positive. Of course, there is always the Holiday Inn Express, but that would not be our first choice.

Any comments about the Roosevelt B&B? It is pet friendly but there are so many negative comments on trip advisor that I have serious concerns.

Is there something in between the basic chain hotels and the Resort which is pet friendly?

Having lived in CDA for several years, I recall how small that resort was when it started out. Now to hear they charge $300 a night - wow!

We were in CDA about 3 years ago and stayed at Ameritel Inn. We were pleased with this hotel.

The location of the Roosevelt B&B is a busy street from what I could see of the map.

Ameritel Inn in CDA looks very nice. However when I called directly to the hotel I was told they do NOT accept pets. Any other ideas?

The Holiday Inn Express in CDA is nice.

This is where we stay when we overnight in Coeur d'Alene
http://www.flamingomotelidaho.com/ They are wonderful there and the rooms are great as you can see from the website. You can walk to the lake or downtown restaurants. We love it there and so does our dog.

I looked at the Flamingo motel website and unfortunately it states that dogs under 10 pounds are allowed. Our goldendoodle is 45 pounds.

The Holiday Inn Express has some good reviews on Trip Advisor however, we stay at so many HIE hotels that we are always in search of something with more character whenever possible.
