Any suggestions for day trips from coeur d'alene?

For beautiful scenery take a drive up the St Joe River to Avery, Idaho. That would be driving out of St Maries. Not sure what is there anymore - used to be a community of 150 people and the ranger station.

The road is now paved through Avery and into Montana. In Montana you can go back to CDA via the I-90.

If you would do this take along some snacks and water as I am not sure what you would find between St Maries and St Regis.

There are boat trips on the Snake River going up Hells Canyon.
