Coeur D/Alene Resort - Horrible Experience

The bellman lost 4 of our 6 bags, including my computer and my wife's jewelry.
They offered nothing to compensate us.
They charged $22 for a martini when we went to their bar to recover. The hotel was $300 per night.
The golf was very nice, but $220 a round at the "Resort Guest" rate.
Overall a total ripoff. Stay at a B&B and have a much better experience. Better environment, no lost bags, caring staff, hugely better value.
If they want to charge more than the 4 Seasons they should provide a similar level of service, not below a Best Western.

Sounds like a theft rather than a loss. What did they say when you came up 4 bags short?

Odd that you would register on Fodor's site just to publish this information. Strange first post.

For some reason, I don't belive a word of this, you troll.

Yeah, I checked the number of posts, too, but couldn't really think of a reason for such a troll post...do you think he runs a neighboring B&B?

missypie-Your theory sounds good!! After all a guest would know the rate of the room when they made their reservation and if $300 was too much, would choose to stay elsewhere.

Staying at the resort there is a bad idea anyway. Plenty of much better options available that offer a much better experience

And now it's Thuel's first post. Paula, I also don't get how a guest would not know the room rate.

So js4502, you registered again as Thuel just to make another comment. You have to realize that no one on this board will take your posts seriously because all we have to do is click on your name to see that you are a one time poster.

People on Fodors do their research before they book resorts, B&B's etc so they would already have done all the cost comparisions.

321go-Look like you and I were posting at the same time!!

Thuel Jul 26th, 2007 12:38 PM

Haha, I'm not js4502 and I really like the resort there, I just wouldn't pay that much to stay there. I actually go there to hangout when I'm in Coeur D'Alene
