Cocoa Beach/Melbourne FL snorkeling?

Are there any good places to snorkel around the above areas...or is it just open ocean? Also, how are the jellyfish typically in Oct.? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the jellyfish situation...but I've never seen it too bad. I can tell you as a regular visitor to Cocoa Beach that is really isn't the best place for snorkeling. You can do it, of course, but you won't see much. It's very much open ocean and the water is pretty cloudy. There are some fish, but no reefs so it's not the best. The Florida Keys is the place to go to snorkle if you can get down there. It's about 6 hours south of Cocoa.
