Cocoa Beach Holiday Inn
 

Would like to get some opinions of this hotel. Will be going to Cocoa for a long weekend and thinking of staying here with wife and 2 year old. How are the kidsuites, rooms, pool area, etc. Any info would be appreciated

Overall, it's a good place. The grounds are nice, the beach (they rent chairs), pool and separate kiddie pool are big and it's in a great location, close to everything. In the kidsuite that I saw they had put a separate curtained-off area in a regular room (where the second double bed would go) that had within a 13" tv with video games, bunk bed, kiddie telephone and small chest of drawers. <BR> <BR>When exiting the hotel, if you turn left there's a very good Italian restaurant about a mile down on the right called Alma's, and if you turn right the Cocoa Beach Pier is about 3 miles away. <BR> <BR>Have been to Cocoa Beach 3 times, most recently last November, and always stay at HICB. It's a good value. Be sure to get the AAA rate if you can, it'll save you a few $$$. (In the "little white lie" department, if you book ahead you can request the AAA rate whether you have it or not -- they never ask to see your card, and if they do, just say "the dog ate it".) <BR> <BR>

We end our summer each year with a long weekend there. The kidsuites won't impress your two-year-old, considering her age, but it's a good set up when he or she needs quiet time for a nap. The Holiday Inn is basic, but clean and in a good location. Keep in mind, if you've never been to a FL east coast beach, the waves and current are very strong.

Al & Sal, <BR> <BR>Thanks for your response it sounds like a pretty good choice. Sal, actually I live in Orlando and usually go to clearwater, daytona, or new smyrna but thought we would give Cocoa a try but thanks for the advice.

To George- <BR> I also live in Orlando and I'm the opposite of you - I'm ready to try places other than Cocoa Beach now! Can you name me some good places to stay in Daytona Beach and Clearwater? Thanks!

George, if proximity to the actual beach is a concern for you, I would suggest that you get a look at the layout of the Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach. There are a number of buildings and wings in the complex. I believe that we were in a 700-series room, which was a beachfront building. Happy Trails!

George and Celeste- <BR>Next time consider the beaches off manatee County--esp. Anna maria. Alot of people from St. Pete and Tampa come down here for the great beaches.

to Celeste. Sorry it took so long to respond but I have not been on for a while. In Clearwater (our favorite beach) you cant beat the Adams Mark for great location, wonderful pool area with really good music. As for Daytona we have tried many but have yet to find the perfect spot. Once again Adams Mark is nice and clean but the disappointed in the pool area, but it is right on the boardwalk with lots to do and see.
