Cocktails for 20 Manhattan

I am looking for a nice bar/ lounge in Manhattan that can accomodate a party of about 20 for drinks & apps for Friday evening Dec 28 any suggestions?

What area of Manhattan?

denteraser Dec 20th, 2007 05:10 AM

Prefer midtown but very open

What's your price point? Do you need a private room or just an area that can be cordoned off?

Try Landmarc in the time warner center

Contact the Broadway Lounge at the Marriott Marquis and see if they'll reserve an area for you. Views over Times Square (8th floor).

If you want something nicer, the Campbell Apartments has an area they set aside for parties. Actually any of the venues run by that co. would be nice

Top of the Tower at the Beekman Tower hotel is another nice idea with view.

We hosted a dinner party for 12 at Sushi Samba 7. They were very accomodating there, helping with the menu and even providing much more than we expected. (We worked with Monica.) SS7 has an upstairs patio that they reserved for us, but I don't know if it's open and heated in December. You can Google it and see the menus.

Amalia in the Dream Hotel or Ava Lounge on the top floor of the Dream Hotel.

Contact Stout, a large, new, very well-done bar/restaurant with many "private" rooms/areas.

It's a busy time of year, however ... you might be too late.

Bacaro, which is new, also has a downstairs area, part of which you might be able to reserve (but it's downtown).

Good luck!

Not sure if it is still available at this late date but what about Cite Grill on 52nd street.

Not quite an apps place but a great Dinner with unlimited wine (good wine!) at a fair price! I had a few groups that enjoyed the evening in CITE.

Cite Grill closed more than a year ago.

Thanks, mclaurie. I saw this post and thought maybe Cite had reopened? Know what's it its space now?

denteraser, I hope you report back on what you found and how it was.
