Tickle Pink Inn OR Seven Gables Inn

Carmel at Tickle Pink Inn or Pacific Grove at Seven Gables Inn??? Any thoughts/preferences?

Also -- what about the Highlands Hyatt down in Carmel??

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Tickle Pink and Highlands Inn are in the same stunningly beautiful location. They are high end hotels. Seven Gables is a high end B&B. From SG, you can walk just a quarter block to the beautiful rocky coastline that has a long walking/biking trail. The hotels are high on a bluff overlooking the rocky coast, but you must drive to get to the water.

We stayed at Seven Gables and it is one of our top favorite B&B's! It is closet to bay, we could hear the surf from our room.

Great breakfast, free wine tasting and snacks every afternoon and fresh, hot cookies and milk every night don't hurt either! We met some really nice folks while there and they were all return visitors - I could see why.

Here are some pics:

we've stayed at the Carmel Highlands Hyatt and we had a good time with a lovely view.
It was next door to Tickled Pink and you can't beat the location but if DebitNM says the Seven Gables is awesome, I would go with her suggestion.
Make sure you dine for dinner at Passionfish in Pacific Grove..one of the best meals and cheap too!

I would choose Tickle Pink simply because I would rather stay in Carmel than PG; we stayed in PG and Monterey for years, and now I'm interested in a (slight) change. But you can't go wrong with any of the places mentioned above.

We also loved the Seven Gables Inn when we stayed there a few years ago. It is a lovely inn and location with beautiful views. However, our son and DIL loved the Highlands in Carmel where they stayed for part of their honeymoon. After staying in Carmel for a week, they went to San Francisco but DIL did not like it after staying in Carmel, so they went back to the Highlands!

I knew you girls (Deb and sf) had exquisite taste!
I couldn't believe how reasonable it is and their half bottle selection was almost at cost!
Food was top notch.

We went there because I remembered you and Debit had recommended it (we happened to be there at dinnertime!). I would definitely return.

Considering a stay at the Tickle Pink for 9/10. Can you tell me....is one able to walk to Carmel from the TP? Also, monterey bob says you "must drive to get to the water". Not sure I understand...since you can see the water from the hotel. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Found the answers to my questions today. One needs to drive to Carmel from the TP.

". . . and the poster may not be checking this website right now." A safe bet - the OP started two threads in Feb 2010 and never returned to Fodors.
