Ouch. Did that sound like a put down that you were allowed in to the club,
Stephcar? I really didn't mean it to be at all, honest, and I don't doubt that you were indeed hot. But in reading my response I could see how it could be interpreted as such. Just making a general observation.

Neopolitan--no offense taken, really. I agree there are some advantages to being a girl for sure, esp. in NYC. The thing that made it *seem* like we were special (although I know we were not) was that the manager passed groups of girls in their 20s and took us out of the line. That is a MAJOR ego boost to 4 stay-at-home (and married!) moms, lol. There was some host from Comedy Central behind the red velvet ropes (whom we did not recognize, only have this info. thanks to the 20 somethings next to us) which added to the movie star feeling. But you are right, I did not see ANY guys get passed the ropes w/out waiting in lines and even fewer in the VIP room.

"Some" advantages?? Women have a huge advantage when it comes to getting into clubs. A group of women with no men will often not stand on line at all, while a group of guys will stand on line forever or not gain entry, period.
Groups of older women are getting a pass now too, thanks primarily to the "urban cougar" phenomenom.
