Club Quarters vs Harborside Inn - Boston

Hi everyone! I'm new here but have received so much info from reading the boards. My husband and I are taking a 5 day/4 night trip to Boston in October and we have reservations as both the Club Quarters and Harborside Inn. Can I get anyones opinions on which of these two you would pick? Also, we want take a couple of day trips and was wondering if anyone had suggestions.

Thanks so much and I look forward to reading your responses.

These are two completely different places!

Harborside Inn (which is not actually harborside, there's an interstate highway in between) has a country inn feel (and service) and is nicely located only steps from Faneuil Hall/Quincy Marketplace and the waterfront.

Club Quarters is a very "business traveler" sort of place with the same sort of atmosphere. Everything is "electronic". Check in/check out, and you even have to use your room key for the elevator to operate. Front desk has very limited hours. It's also not very well located - in the financial district where nearby restaurants close early and are not open weekends, even Starbuck's! From there, it's a hike to Faneuil Hall or Copley Square or the Waterfront.

My pick would definitely be the Harborside of those two.

Will you have a car?

What are your dates in October?

Yes we will be renting a car for a couple of days. Oct 20-24.

Thanks!!

That's probably too late for foliage.

Our favorite places to visit near Boston are Plymouth, Salem, Newburyport, Rockport, Marblehead in MA, and Portsmouth, NH.

I'll add Ogunquit Maine
