Clothing for NYC - next week???

Ok, I checked the weather...in the 70's, cloudy, possible thunderstorms. Is the 70's with high humidity shorts weather? I live in a dry climate with 100degree weather so I am unsure of how to adjust. Capris? Sweater in the evening? We will be out and about doing all the regular touristy stuff! Short sleeves? 3/4 length sleeves? Thanks for any info!

All of the above. Really, truly NYC weather at this time of year can be anything, fluctuate from downright hot and sticky to cool sweater time, especially after one of those thunderstorms in the late afternoon. All you suggestions for clothing are appropriate. If it is humid and in the 70s, you will probably find shorts comfortable. It depends on what you are comfortable wearing. (And remember, we do have clothing stores here if you don't bring the right outfit.)

Dark neutral colors, comfortable shoes, an umbrella, and a rain coat. I usually take a lot of khaki, tan, and black with me. I would probably steer clear of white pants.

Thanks so much! It was easier packing for Ireland last summer! I got it all in one small suitcase! This trip will be more of a challenge!

Today it seemed like everyone was either wearing tiny little tops with their belly buttons showing with tight jeans or long cotton skirts with tee shirts.
It is very warm today in the city and a little sticky.
I heard the week is supposed to be nice..lets hope the rain has stopped...praying emoticon please ~

I'll let my 70 year old mom know she has to start showing her belly button next week! HA! Actually my husband and i were observing all the bellies when we were at the coast last week (sitting and doing some people watching!) Anyway, we thought it might shake up our kids if I started dressing that way too!!!! I think I should let my panties show in the back too! Well, didn't mean to get off on a tangent! Just thought that the idea of a whole bunch of 50 year old women adopting this new style created a rather amusing visual image!!!

Be prepared to go from humid and sticky outdoors, to frigid air conditioning indoors.
