Looking for lodge near canyon de chelly
The Thunderbird Lodge is close to the entrance to the Monument.
Also, there is a Holiday Inn and a Best Western in the area.
I stayed at the Best Western a few years ago. It was fine.

The Thunderbird Lodge is the most convenient.
I don't agree with travelman. Canyon de Chelley is definitely worth the time.

Then I misunderstood too, wasn't travelman saying to skip Thunderbird Lodge, but NOT the Canyon?

Isn't Thunderbird where you access tours, too? Isn't it nice - if it's a dump, we too will stay somewhere else.

TIA!

Thunderbird Lodge is the place to stay and pick up the tours through Canyon de Chelly....as with all accomodations and restaurants in those areas, the restaurants are pretty basic and nothing to write home about, but can't beat the scenery anywhere.
