Clearwater Beach Hotel

In May 2000 I want to go to clearwater beach for a few days. Does anyone has some experience with the Clearwater Beach Hotel?
I would prefer a Hotel directly on the beach(
not to cross a street) and a quiet and safty area.
Many thanks for help!!!
Kind regards
Christine

Hi Christine: We stayed at the Radisson Sand Key. It is an all suites Hotel. It has a gorgeous pool area. It overlooks the intercoastal waterway and the beach. You do have to cross the road to go to the beach however. The Sheraton Sand Key was just across the road on the beach side so that may be what your looking for. These two hotels are not right downtown so they are a little quiter and I found them to be in a very safe area. We went to a restaurant called "Leverocks(sp)" just by the edge of the bridge it was very, very good. Karen

The Sheraton Sand Key may be what you are looking for: it has a GREAT beach right adjacent to a very nice pool. It is, however, an older hotel of maybe about 12 stories with pretty average standard rooms. But if a great beach and pool are more important, this would be good. You could find fancier, newer properties, but chances are they would be on the intercoastal rather that the ocean

The Clearwater Beach Hotel is a great "old" hotel. It was renovated about five years ago or so. Has a great restaurant, and is right on the Gulf of Mexico. They do have a "Beach Club", which is a newer building with condo-type units.

I live nearby and have stayed there, however, my favorites are the Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach or the Sheraton Sand Key.

Let me know if you need more info.

We stayed at the Sheraton Sand Key and it has the most enormous beach area. Yes, the rooms are not luxurious, but are very nice, and if you get a balcony overlooking the beach it makes the rooms pretty great.

The Clearwater Beach Hotel is beautiful. I know I just created the panoramic images of the resort on their web site. http://www.clearwaterbeachhotel.com

You can also link to it via http://www.beachtourism.com

The Clearwater Beach Hotel is a nice hotel. It is right on the beach and there are several restaurants in the area and a lot of things within walking distance. It is, however, right on the main road and there is alot of traffic especially on weekends. It may not be the quietest place. The Sheraton Sand Key is nice also, but not much within walking distance. That would be a little more quiet.

Have a great time and don't forget the sunscreen!
