Molyvos at 7th near 55th is great. The lamb shanks are wonderful.
Very inexpensive and surprisingly wonderful (seems more like an authentic Greek place than a theme restaurant) is Uncle Nicks on 9th near 51st. |
Thanks NeoPatrick. I looked at the menu for Uncle Nick's; I think it's just what we're looking for.
I do have another question. I've gotten recommendations for both Tout Va Bien and Montparnasse. Both look good, but which is better? Your feedback is requested. Is it lunchtime yet? I'm sure getting hungry... |
I don't know either, so have no feedback to offer. Sorry.

DebitNM - I was looking for a great Peking Duck for Thanksgiving this year! I checked out their site and love the menu. How far in advance did you have to order the Peking Duck? Thanks for your recommendation.

The Sea Grill while a lovely setting was over $400 with tip for 2 people to eat. Its nice but the food and the setting were not worth that much. I know you said you were okay with expensive but we both thought this was too much. |
LMaev, it's possible to spend that much at TGIFriday's if you order expensive wine or tons of cocktails.
Here are the menus for Sea Grill: http://www.rapatina.com/seaGrill/ From the regular dinner menu, I'm having a hard time finding any way to get the price of three courses over $75 a person even ordering the MOST EXPENSIVE main course. Leaving room for tax and generous tip, that would indicate you spent about $150 for wine or drinks. The average price for starter, main, and dessert would be around $60 to $65 a person. That's not expensive by New York standards. No, it isn't a PerSe or even a Four Seasons, but I've always found it exceptional dining for the price. |

I think the food (and also the atmosphere) is far better at Montparnasse than Tout Va Bien.
We also love Montparnasse for Sunday brunch. |
It is the specialty at the Peking Duck House, so you order off the menu.

I was at Montparnasse just a week ago for lunch (Prix Fixe business lunch). I really enjoyed it, so I 3rd or 4th the recommendation.
