Civil war casualty

I have a great great great grand uncle who was killed in the civil war in Missippi. He was with Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest. Are there any records kept as to where he was killed and where he was buried? He was born in Ireland but was an ardent supporter of The Confederacy.

There are several books listing the soldiers, battles, etc. Try your local public library for resources.

I had a gr.gr. grandfather that came from Germany and fought in the Civil War. We were able to do a search and get his military records which told us a lot about him. I'll see if I can find the address and post it.

I found the info. I remember someone telling me that the Confederate records were sketchy and many were lost or destroyed, but check out these sites.<BR><BR>http://www.misscivilwar.org/resources/bib-comp.html<BR><BR>http://www.archives.gov/research_room/genealogy/military/confederate_pension_records.html<BR> <BR>
