Cirque du soleil in Las Vegas
My question is myself and a group of friends are going to Las Vegas for 4 nights to celebrate a 60th birthday and want to see a Cirque du soleil show. Which would be the best one and what is the best way to get decent tickets

I've seen 2 Cirque shows on Las Vegas and 2 more on the road. Much as I enjoyed them, I enjoyed Le Rêve in Las Vegas even more.

I've seen Mystere which is held in a smaller venue than the others. It's a more tradional CdS show with acrobats and humor. Ka is what I would recommend. It redefined what can be done with a stage show because of what they do with the stage itself.

We saw Ka--there was always someone in the lobby of the MGM handing out half price vouchers. We decided that we must not be Cirque people--the spectacle was interesting for about 20 minutes.
|
I will second the Le Reve recommendation... didn't see any other shows, but it was amazing and not a bad seat in the house.

I am a Cirque fan and have seen several in Las Vegas (most more than once). Here are my favorites (in order):
Mystere LOVE "O" Ka! BTW - I turned 60 two weeks ago. |
We've not seen any of the other shows, but saw LeReve a couple of weeks ago--amazing.

My personal order (best listed first):
KA Le Reve (not Cirque de Soleil, but very similar) O Mystere Love As you can tell, reactions vary a lot! The safest bet is Mystere. Among people who've seen many shows, few list it as their favorite, but few dislike it either. KA is probably the riskiest; it seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it type of show. Love is the least like a traditional Cirque show. However, if you're a Beatles fan, you may think it's great. |
We've seen several Cirque du Soleil shows, some multiple times. My favorites:
1. KA 2. La Reve 3. O 4. Beatles LOVE 5. Mystere Woody |
