Cingular and T-mobile in Oahu

Hi all,
We are heading to Oahu in July and was wondering if our cellphones would work. both of our phones have nationwide coverage and was wondering if there were extra charges for being out on the islands. want to be able to call and check on the kids. thanks for any help.

I've got Cingular -- works fine here on Kaua`i, and when I travel to the other islands, it works there also ('cept for the far south side of Hawai`i Island, and in Hana on Maui).

As for whether you'll have extra charges for "roaming", check with your local cell office to see what your own account covers.

I use Tmobile here on Oahu and I'm fine. Hawaii is part of the united states but if you're concerned, check with your provider.

We were in Oahu over Easter weekend and our Cingular worked just great. For our plan, no extra charges. Everywhere we were on the island we got a clear signal, outgoing and incoming.

We also have Cingular and used both on Kauai and Oahu with no problems. No extra charges under our plan either.
