Has anyone stayed there recently? The reviews on Trip Advisor are surprisingly mixed.

What kind of vibe does it have; is it more geared to the health / weight loss / medical stuff or does it also have a fun relaxed resort vibe? Looking for a place in the area for some R & R, altho would definitely swim, hike and use the fitness rooms. IOW, i don't wanna get the evil eye from other guests if i'm drinking or eating ice cream at the pool

Also, can you recommend any other resorts in the southern utah / northern arizona area that might be geared more towards just chilling and having fun? After lots of nat'l parks, we always like to hang at a resort for a few, and would rather not go back to the scottsdale area.

Red Mountain Spa is in Ivins, right next to St. George and is a fabulous spa! I have been several times and absolutely love it. Very relaxed, but healthy eating and lots of hiking, biking and fitness classes. You can get wine with dinner, but no ice cream around the pool unless you bring it with you. I have been with large groups of friends as well as with just a few. I have always had a great time there.

Sorry I cannot be of much help as I have never stayed at any spas in St. George. However, Red Mountain Spa looks very nice and have seen some good reports. Give it a check.

Thanks mms and Michelle. Reviews for Red Mountain Spa are better, but i'm actually looking for more of a resort than a spa. Just a place with a great pool and pool bar. I have a feeling neither of these spas have the latter... ?

Can anyone think of another place?

It is Utah, so a place with a great pool bar may be more difficult to find. Never thought of that until now. Let us know what you come up with. Now I am curious.

Wow michelle, what an amazing place! I'd love to stay there if i can work it into the budget. Its a 2.5 week trip so its doubtful. I wish all desert resorts would discount their summer rates like they do in scottsdale and tucson.

Stayed at Entrada in '08...it's got a very golf oriented/country club vibe. The villas are nicely done. Fitness center quite up-to-date, if that's your thing. It's right up the road from Red Mountain Spa which I have also stayed at, but RMS patrons are mostly women on "girl's getaways"...
