Cincinnati Wine Festival 3/23 & 3/24

Has anyone been to this festival? Is there food at the tasting or just wines? The website isn't very specific.

TTT - Doesn't anyone drink wine?

Now that you can get Cincinnati chili elsewhere, if your not already in town for a Klan meeting, why would anyone visit Cincinasty?

Wow! Uncalled for!

Sorry kybourbon, I cannot help with the festival info. Hope you get some HELPFUL replies. :)

I have never been to this event, but I did find this article. It's actually from a radio station. The web site is:

Grand Tasting
Duke Energy Center
Friday, March 23, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 24, 2:30 –4:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 24, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

With more than 120 wineries pouring more than 600 wines, the Grand Tastings are not to be missed. You’re sure to find some new and exciting wines to add to your favorites. Admission includes all tastes, a souvenir Reidel wine glass, delicious foods, and an official wine tasting guide. Come join the fun at this magnificent celebration of wine!

Take Your Favorites Home! A Silent Auction will be held at both the Friday and Saturday evening Grand Tasting. The auction’s wonderful wine vintages and fun wine paraphernalia help you continue the celebration. Lots are affordable and easy to buy. But keep an eye on the highest written bid, because lots randomly close throughout the evening. Bid while you taste and take home your treasures at the end of the evening!

I was at the festival last year and am going next week. In fact, we're taking all our employees and their spouses and staying at the Millenium Fri night. It is a very good wine show. Sure, there are some stinkers (Ohio wines, Ky wines, lol) okay that's unfair. There are some regional gems, but there are also many good CA and Oregon wineries participating. I was a bit disappointed in the food- it was mainly cheese and crackers, fruit, not anything like the food at the wine magazine type events. However, there are events tied to the show- for instance we are going to a winemaker dinner Th at One with Meeker Winery. Can't wait! The event is on concrete and gets a bit crowded, so give yourself lots of time and wear comfy shoes. Sante!

Forgot to mention....at Jungle Jim's in N Cincinnati (incredible place) they will have a whole section of wines that are features at the festival. There will be some good deals, too.

Thanks guys! I was wondering if any of the locals attend. Beatchick? Snowrooster?

Meeting Indytravel for dinner at Daveed's at 934 Friday night and going to the festival Saturday afternoon.

Linda - Can you purchase the wines at the festival? I know some festivals you can only buy the ones from that state because of license laws. I love Jungle Jim's, but don't plan to go to northern Cincinnati, although it's tempting. I also like Trader Joe's near Kenwood mall. We don't have them in my area.
