Cincinnati to Traverse City/Places to Stay/Wine
 

Traveling from CIncinnati to Traverse City in late August and need ideas on places to stay in TC. We would like to possibly stay a day or two...looking for charming, relaxing
and need ideas for checking out the wineries there.

What is the best route from Cincy to Traverse City and is there anything inbetween...good stopping point on the way. Can you get there in one day comfortably?

If you would rather not drive 500 miles in one day, stop in Grayling or Rosscommon. I do remember paddling a few miles on the AuSable River decades ago.

Fly fishing heaven in Michigan and maybe especially in August. The Au Sable is the cradle of Trout Unlimited.

I will tell you to heed any deer warning signs on secondary roads you travel on.
