Christmas in Seattle/Olympia
We are going to visit Lacy (between Tacoma and Olympia) in a few weeks, spending Christmas and New Years with my Son and his family.
We will be spending a lot of time with my granddaughter, but will also get away by ourselves. Any ideas for plays, Broadway type shows, romantic things to do, etc? Don't mind driving into Seattle or even spending a day in Vancouver.
Also want to go skiing. Not great skiers, so we don't need super great slopes. Ideas?
Thanks for everything,
Duane

Duane, of course there's plenty going on both in Seattle and Vancouver around the end of the year, much of it "holiday" fare as usual. You might check out the Seattle Weekly for ideas. Vancouver is a long day trip from Lacey in winter, especially with reported long border delays due to increased security.
For skiing, Crystal Mountain near Mt. Rainier NP will be reasonably convenient from Lacey, also it has the advantage of offering great views of Mount Rainier from the top of the runs.

I recommend Jazz Alley, the Nutcracker Ballet, shows at the Paramount or the 5th ave Theater. How about a romantic dinner at Palasades to watch the incredible view? These are all in Seattle- sorry, that's what I know!
