Christmas in Maui

Hi to all:

We are seasoned travelers to Maui but this year will be our first time at Christmas. We'll be there Dec 21st-26th.

I was wondering if anybody can suggest any special events or experiences during that time in Maui?

We always stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea and so don't do any of our own cooking. Does anybody have any suggestions for a special Christmas dinner there?

Thanks for any input!

Do you have children? We stayed at the Four Seasons over Christmas and they had a TON of Christmas events/activities for the kids. Included Santa arriving on Christmas Eve on an outrigger canoe to our hotel beach...Big party with Christmas crafts, inflatable moon walks, BINGO with prizes, Santa gave gifts and also delivered stockings to each room. We ate Christmas breakfast and dinner at our hotel. We ordered a tabletop tree and bought Hawaiian ornaments to decorate the tree when we arrived. It was a great trip!

Aloha Ashley24:

We'll have our "kids" with us, ages 23 and 20.

The Four Seasons is another wonderful Wailea resort and it sounds like you had a glorious Christmas there. I love your idea of a treetop tree with Hawaiian ornaments...definitely want to do that! Did you pack it or order it while there?

I can only hope that the Fairmont will offer a similar level of Christmas spirit as The Four Seasons. We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at The Four Seasons 3 years ago.

Mahalo!

We ordered it from the resort but if I were to do it again, I would buy it from a store once I arrived...it was quite pricey. I gave it to the Housekeeper when we left. I videotaped our kids decorating the tree so I'll have that memory always. I think I heard somewhere that the Kea Lani has carolers to celebrate. That would be neat. Enjoy your trip with your "kids"!
