Pardon me, but people actually fly to miami then drive to key west? Please. Most people I know (from the midwest) take a two-leg flight into key west. First flight to MIA, TPA, or MCO. Then the flight to key west.

Someone please tell me where the hassle is in that? Most people who drive to key west are people that are hell bent on doing they drive they saw in that car commercial, folks who didn't do their research, or people that live in the miami area.

So I disagree that key west is a difficult destination to get to.

Well, we are just back from Florida -spent the day in Key West on Dec. 27. Short of time so drove there and back from Key Largo. Comments - Key West was great - we loved it. It was lively, bustling and FULL of people! No way can you call it dead! The drive was fine - roads quite busy but OK. Had a lovely stop on the beach at Bahia Honda on the way.
