Christmas eve in NY.. How do americans celebrate it? Some ideas?

I recommend getting out of bed early on Christmas Day and heading to Rockefeller Center. it is relatively uncroweded (at least, it was 2 years ago when I did this) and you watch people ice skate among all the fantastic decorations. The department stores which have the great window displays also are located nearby.
