Christmas dinner in S.D.
My husband and I will be spending the holidays in San Diego. Any ideas where we would find a nice, quiet yet unique restaurant for Christmas day? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When will I learn that S.D. doesn't mean South Dakota?
I clicked on thinking it meant South Dakota also.
Thee Bungalow in Point Loma is a small quiet restaurant with excellent food. You can check out their web site theebungalow.com.
I'm with the first two posters. And not only that...I think I'd rather visit SD (South Dakota) - a truly under-appreciated state - than SD (San Diego).
I apologize for the confusion. No offense to the lovely state of S.Dakota.
Thee Bungalow looks like a fabulous choice. Thanks for the post. |
If you can afford it, my one and only choice for Christmas dinner would be the Hotel Del Coronado. It has superb ambiance, especially at Christmas. I cannot afford to eat there often but the few times I have, the meal and service have been superlative.
The Hotel Del Coronado was on Great Hotels yesterday on the Travel Channel! It looked incredible.
Hotel Del - not only is the food good, but the atmosphere at the Del during Christmas is wonderful. I believe you should make reservations for dinner in the Grand Ballroom--visit their homepage.
The Hotel Del is indeed faboo, but on my recent trip to San Diego I was even more impressed with the food at the Lodge at Torey Pines. It's not on the water, but their restaurant AR Valarien gets excellent reviews. Their 3 course Thanksgiving menu at $65/person looked great.
