Christmas Dinner at Disney World

Can you recommend the best restaurant at Disney World for a traditional Christmas dinner on December 25th? We are looking for a restaurant on the Disney properties in mid range pricing by Disney standards, but finding the "Christmas experince" is most important.

Thanks

John

there's a restaurant inside magic kingdom called Liberty Tavern (i believe that's the name) which serves family-style set menus. Im sure they will have a christmas style dinner menu....for more suggestions, go to disboards.com and post this there...you will get tons of suggestions from disney fans. Also, i suggest you call Disney Dining and speak with an agent on what they recommend too and book it asap as the best restaurants get booked months in advance.

LGarabito is absolutely correct. Make your reservation NOW, or the question won't be which restaurant you prefer, but which one will be willing to feed you. Almost any Disney restaurant will be good at that Christmas feel. Many people enjoy Liberty Tree, but all restaurants in the Magic Kingdom are dry, if that's something that is important to you for a festive meal.

I'll second the suggestion for Disboards.

Several of the hotels are decorated superbly for Christmas. The Yacht Club, Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge are all festive. Selecting what you consider a moderate restaurant at these locations might be the test. Artist's Point at Wilderness is very reliable. Captain's Grill at Yacht and Narcoosie's at Grand Floridian are the mid-range at these locations.

I suggest the hotels would be a much more relaxed dinner than one of the restaurants in the park.

If you have your Disney hotel reservations, make your dining restaurants now.

Call 407-WDW-DINE as soon as you read this. I suspect that there is already 95%-100% bookings for 12/25 dinner. Ask the agent to check everything everywhere for anytime that day. I'm sorry to say the list will probably be pretty short.

Option 2, pick a few you're interested in and go there as soon as they open on 12/25 to see if there has been cancellations.

I agree with the others that you need to make reservations for Christmas Day ASAP. You can check the availability of all the restaurants at disneyworld.com (take a couple of minutes to register at that site). Click on Where To Eat and then click on Make Reservations. You can then put in the date and time you prefer and the number of people. All the restaurants with availability will be listed. You can make reservations on line (if you've registered) or, if you prefer, you can call the number in the previous post. If you take the time to call, however, the reservation might be gone.

Have fun. Be sure to catch the Osborne Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. They are amazing.

It's not quite that grim, but you do need to get on it. For the sheer heck of it, I popped in a theoretical party of four around 6pm, and got 46 restaurants with availability, and 27 without.

Clearly you're not going to get a character meal this late, but it looks like they will not starve you, and there are some excellent restaurants among the 46.
