Christmas day in NO?

Arriving in NO for a long weekend on Christmas day. Does anyone know what we can expect to find open (restaurants, shops,) on the 25th? Have basically prepared to have our holiday dinner in the hotel room via room service, so any good news is welcomed!! ;-)

Go to frencquarterfestivals.com; they have a whole section devoted to Xmas in NO, including dining options. Many great specials to be had in NO around Xmas.

You'll find some restaurants open. Stores will be closed and the French Quarter will be delightfully quiet for leisurely strolls.

The leisurly stroll sounds great. When we were in NO, one of my favorite things was to walk around the FQ in the morning before things got going.

Restaurants that are open are 50/50 so be sure to check with your concierge before you head out for dinner. I'm pretty sure the neighboroohd places like Angeli on Decatur, Fiorella's, Flanagan's Pub, Rita's, and probably Irene's will all be open. Hotel restaurants should stay open. Cafe Du Monde will be closed. Some shops will be open early for last minute gifts. Most tourist attractions will be closed except for a handful of walking tours. Bars will usually stay open. Expect a generally quiet day about town.
