CHRISTMAS DAY in FT. LAUDERDALE

In FLBTS or in FT LAUDERDALE or area are there any especially nice places to dine on Christmas Day? Your suggestions are welcome!

Hope to get some ideas!

Charlies Crab is a nice upscale location right on the Intracoastal Waterway. Check their site at
http://www.muer.com . Not sure if they are open on Cristmas day.
Another favorite of ours is Sage French Cafe. http://www.sagecafe.net

If you can't find a place at LBTS or Ft. Lauderdale, nor do you want to look all over creation, why not stay at a place that has a full kitchen. There are the Coral Key Inn (right across from ocean) & Blue Seas Courtyard (in LBTS) - they have full kitchens and a few blocks away is a major grocery chain (Publix) in a small mall just in back of El Mar Drive.

I was happy to see that there are Chuck Muer restaurants in the area. I am a Loyal FRIENDS member. I could not open the other website..not sure why.

Yes, his places are first class. I tried the Sage site again and it worked for me, not sure why it didn't for you. Be sure to use .net, NOT .com.
We go back to Sage on each of our trips to Fort Lauderdale and always enjoy it.
If you still can't open the site, search for Sage French Cafe and it should be one of the first links displayed.

Thanks Harry.......you were correct. I was using .com instead of.net. The Sage looks great!

Harry I see there are several different locations for Chuck Muer's......do you like any 1 in particular?

Do you have any other suggestions? I will have a car.

We go to the one on N.E. 32nd Ave.,just off of A1A right in FLL. Very nice Intracoastal views. Another place we have liked in the past is Bimini Boatyard which is located on 17th St. near the causeway. It is located on a canal with some waterviews.
For Italian we always like Bravo Italiano which also is on 17th St.

Thanks again Harry. You seem to know your way around restaraunts in several cities. Just read your post re NYC.

HarryR Nov 22nd, 2003 05:24 AM

Really not too familiar with NYC, just what I learn from having dinner there after we see a play periodically.
Fort Lauderdale has been my favorite FL. destination for years and we seem to get there at least once a year.

The Left Bank is an excellent small restaurant. They always do a lot for holidays. I used to get a newsletter from them telling about their special Christmas and New Year's meals. So I'm 99% sure they will be open. Check them out.

Now that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away.....does anyone else have any suggestions?

When in FLL last spring we ate at Charlies Crab all ready suggested and it was excellent. If they are open I would highly recommend. Also ate at Bimini Boatyard nice ambiance as well. I would check first to see what is open. Good luck. We also found many restaurants on Los Olas Blvd.
