Choosing b/w 2 Marriotts??

Hi....
I work for Marriott but never been to Honolulu before?? Looking at 2 properties..Waikik Beach and JW Marriott Ihiani at Ko Olina? Has anyone been to one or both?? We have 7 night..someone said maybe 4 nights in Waikiki to shop and party, and see the sites and 3 nights it other to just relax and be pampered?? Any advise?? Also is Pearl Harbor worth seeing? Anyone know the cost?? THANKS SOO MUCH!

Ko Olina is supposed to be fabulous. I've been reading reviews on my Timeshare Users Group board. They are extremely favorable, however, it is a drive from Waikiki. Have you thought about Kauai? The Marriott there is incredible.

I would agree that maybe 3 nights at the Ihilani and 4 nights at Waikiki would be better if you have never been to Honolulu. Ko Olina is about a 40-minute drive (at least, depending on traffic) from Waikiki and all the other shopping & attractions.

If you do a search for Pearl Harbor on this board, you will find a lot of opinions, most people feel it is well worth seeing.

Conde Naste recently voted Ko Olina as one of the world top spas. It also supposedly has a great golf course.

The Ihilani is real nice but indeed the location is far from the city center, and prone to terrible traffic delays. For a first time visitor, having a mix of Waikiki and Ko Olina would be great though. Allocate your time in Waikiki to the sights in Honolulu, Waikiki, East and Windward Oahu. Then while at Ko Olina you could dedicate your time towards West, Central, and the North shore, you totally beat the traffic that way.
