Chocolate Martinis while travelling

My girlfriends and I will be spending a week together in June. I was always the bartender in school and now I think I need to perfect the "chocolate martini".

Anyone have a good recipe?

Also, has anyone used Harry & David's Mojito Drink Mix or any of their other mixes.

Oh, we are travelling to Big Canoe, GA!

You won't be able to travel too far after you have a chocolate martini, lol. I just had one at a wedding (always wanted to try one) -- it was pure fuel! Not chocolaty like I thought it would be.

Anyway, I hope you find the perfect recipe!

I always make my own mojitos, as they're pretty easy to make.

Mix one part sugar with one part water to create a simple syrup. Then crush a bunch of mint leaves in a glass. Add 1/4 cup of lime juice, a 1/4 cup of your simple syrup, a 1/4 cup of rum, some ice cubes and top the rest with club soda or ginger ale. Add a wedge of lime.

I like club soda and white rum and lots of mint. My husband prefers ginger ale and dark rum.

Sounds like fun!

Google is a handy tool. There are lots of recipes. This is one that doesn't sound like some sort of chocolate milkshake. Godiva liquore would be ideal in this -- particularly the white one in my book.

Chocolate Martini

Ice
2 fluid ounces chocolate liqueur
1 1/2 fluid ounces vodka
1/2 ounce grated chocolate

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the chocolate liqueur and vodka to the shaker. Shake briskly to mix and chill. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the chocolate.

Makes 1 Serving.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

My favorite drink these days is a
"Russian Quaalude"

equal parts vodka, Frangelica and Bailys- shake in shaker with ice- YUM!

iceeu2 May 9th, 2006 02:56 PM

oh, sunburn.....we didn't have the russian but the rest of your drink in our day.......and, "no thanks"....we have long gotten over those days!!!!!!!!

iceeu2 May 9th, 2006 03:10 PM

sunburn, what I said didn't sound very nice. Sounds like a great drink! But, we have gotten too old to mix a bunch of stuff.

I meant no thanks to the quaalude, not the drink!!

I chew up a BIG bar of Hershey's chocolate (female) in my mouth, toss in a qt of that Effen vodka an then have Mrs Kal drive me the back way to SMF airport over 15 miles of ruff rice field roads...get to airport....swallow.

No ka oi! 8-}

starrsville May 9th, 2006 03:20 PM

i2, I think the drink IS the quaalude.

starrsville May 9th, 2006 03:22 PM

If you like sweet drinks, Buttery Nipples are good. 1/2 butterscotch schnapps and 1/2 Baileys.

Kal May 9th, 2006 04:13 PM

Neo...I'd ask if that was an offer, but...;)

jetsy, ahhhhhhhh...the old Wallbanger days!!!! b(

starrs....A good shower never hurt anybody. :))

Oh..and I'2...YOU were the bartender? WADDA SOOOOOPRISE! I could hear it now..."One for you...two for me...."

iceeu2 May 9th, 2006 05:06 PM

geez louise......we made a gazillion million Slow Gin Fizzes, Singapore Slings, and Harvery Wallbangers. Then to top it off......PGA with gatorade.

I can't believe I'm still alive! And, I wondered why my mother was gonna bring my sweet wild a$$ home???!!

Now, back to the question....Chocolate Martinis!!
