chocolate alcohol drink recipes wanted
Yeah, the Alaskan is restless, and cocoa and shnapps seem boring, so since we're in sort of a wintery tgif mood, do you have any good recipes to share?
Last year, there was a divine chocolate hazlenut liqueur in my area, since gone, along with a caramel chocolate. I know January is "tone up the damage from the holidays time", but I put in a good week physically and mentally, so I need a little something extra. Thanks, J. |
Chocolate Martini
If you love chocolate and cocktails you must try this great drink! We prefer Godiva liqueur and chocolate, but you can use your favorite in this recipe. You can use your favorite milk, dark, or semisweet chocolate with great results. Ice 2 fluid ounces chocolate liqueur 1 1/2 fluid ounces vodka 1/2 ounce grated chocolate Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the chocolate liqueur and vodka to the shaker. Shake briskly to mix and chill. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the chocolate. Makes 1 Serving. Preparation Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes |
A chocolate martini is never out of style.
3 oz of nice vodka 1 oz of creme de cacao Shake with ice Pour into a martini glass that has been twirled with a stream of Hersheys chocolate syrup. Drop a Hersheys kiss (sans foil) into the glass or put a strawberry on the side as a garnish. Or go crazy and use both! |
Well cigale. Looks like we're on the same wavelength! :-)

hot buttered chocolate rum.. sounds good to me,lol.
|
oh, you two are my new best friends. Here I was starting to feel guilty for even posting anything so frivolous, but hey, my treadmill helps me stay semi-honest, and I'll just have to ski off the rest this weekend thanks to you and your excellent ideas.
|
We had one of those chocolate Godiva liqueurs once last year, even I was shocked at the chocolateness of it :D
I had pneumonia once and an English friend suggested that I add a good dose of B&B to my tea, would it work in hot chocolate? |
Scarlett, I'm of the school that chocolate will work with anything especially alcohol! :-)
Try the chocolate martini jetset1. They're excellent! So cold to start with but oh-so-warm in a bit. |
Ahh yes, indy, we went to the same school :D

I love chocolate martinis!
How about a Chocolate Bomb http://www.webtender.com/db/drink/4974 Or a Chocolate Buzz http://www.webtender.com/db/drink/3461 Or since you are Alaskan, a Chocolate Black Russianhttp://www.webtender.com/db/drink/244 |

Had a chocolate martini the other night while dining out that was very good. Not sure of the measurements but it included Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, vanilla vodka, and Bailey's Irish Cream. Enjoy!

WE do a party called the Wreckers Ball (we run an architectural antiques & salvage company) and the drinks are last years party were rusty nails, screwdrivers and velvet hammers, which are creme de cocoa, cream and vodka. WHAM!
|
I'm partial to a Brandy Alexander by the fireplace. An ounce of brandy and an ounce of creme de cacao over ice, with half & half and a dash of nutmeg.
I think it might be good warmed, too. Especially in Alaska. |
Michelle-I had one of those 6 shot chocolate martinis the other night. I was singing to the fishes. ;-)
Try hot chocolate with buttescotch liqueur or my favorite hot chocolate with Bailey's. |
A second vote for the hot chocolate with butterscotch liqueur, topped with whipped cream, of course! Also good with amaretto.
|
Amaretto instead of the butterscotch is what I meant to say!
|
You are all such a good BAD INFLUENCE this weekend.. love the butterscotch idea, mmm.. want to try the rusty nails and all the others. Think I'll put on my yoga pants and pretend I'm gonna excercise while I watch my waistline head towards Hawaii!

Jetset, go out an shovel snow a couple of times. That is as good a workout as any gym...

hey, I've been doing plenty of just that. Southcentral Alaska had a mild winter until recently, when we got dumped on by maybe three feet over a couple weeks, blizzard winds and moose making crazy eights through my backyard as they demolish my lilac bushes.
My nice undercover detective neighbor has a new snowblower, and he's like a little kid riding that thing around my circular driveway(my dh works out of town frequently).. in fact, over Christmas, the neighbor told my dh that he hated to see me doing so much shoveling(and this from a 250 lb. beer lover, but hey, he rides around all day)..I do enjoy it though, feels good on a 20-30 degree day, great cardio! |
