Going to NYC next week with 17 year old daughter; where can we find the "best chocolate ever" while we are there??
|
You never know how things will go here. But I think you might get more helpful responses if you repost with something like "Chocolate in NYC" as your title. :)

If you're talking about a shop, Leonidas, there's one on Madison Ave and one downtown somewhere.

MaMac, I just put in 'New York City Chocolate" and it returned a lot of threads with information on where to get chocolate so give it a whirl!

I don't know if these are the best but they are good. jacques torres was a factory and store in the west village, amd Max Brennan just opened up a store/restaurant also in the village on Browadway near 13th st and was opening a 2nd spot (may already be open) in the E. Village.
They both are definitely mentioned in thread here, so you can do a text search, or just google them for more info on locations, etc. |
It's Max Brenner, not Brennan.

If you are really serious about having very good, or the best, chocolates, then youshould go to Kee's at Soho :
http://www.keeschocolates.com/press.html La Maison Du Chocolate, the excellent Paris shop, has a branch in NYC: http://www.lamaisonduchocolat.com/en These are the best in the city, imho. |
here's another recent thread listing many chocolate places !

Try Jacques Torres in Lower Manhattan..lower east side, south of Houston Street....

Kee's is good, and the Michel Cluizel bar at ABC Carpet and Home on Broadway near 19th. (but $$$$)
I stopped in City Bakery (18th St. near 5th Ave.) and they have hot chocolate with amazing homemade marshmallows! |
And let's not forget the chocolate cafe at the back of Mariebelle:

When you go to Rockefeller Center, try Teuscher Chocolates. They're Swiss; they're pricey; and they're worth it!
