Chinese vs Japanese garden-Portland, OR
Hi Everyone,
We will be visiting Oregon for three weeks in September and would like to know if anyone has a preference of one garden over the other. We love not only plants but also the architecture and water features of gardens. Which one do you think will be better in September? I understand that the rose garden is next to the Japanese garden but I don't know how much color there will be at that time of the year. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

All three have merit, but we just went to the Chinese garden on March 19th and really loved it. We took our two daughters, 9 and 17 and they were not bored either. I have not been to the Japanese garden for a few years and as I recall thought it was good too. The rose garden could still have things blooming in September depending on if it is raining already or not.

September is still pretty warm here, usually. I have been to all 3 gardens numerous times, and my personal preference is for the Japanese Garden. It is larger and more varied, IMO. You will most likely still see lots of roses in bloom in September.
