Children in Charleston, SC

What sightseeing & activities would you suggest for a family with a 4 yr old & a 7 yr old. ? We'll be staying outside of Charleston at the beach but want to spend some time in the city. Also could you suggest cafes or restaurants that would be fun for the children so they can try some Southern cooking.?

Aquarium. Carriage ride. Just make it fun.
Eat where you want and order the kids what they want. Do they normally like grits? Do they usually like shrimp?

There's also a Children's museum and I second the Aquarium. Take bathing suits for the kids to change into and after you see the sights, let them go in the fountain on Vendue Range. The kids can climb on the cannons at Battery Park/White Point Gardens. There's a great park with playground equipment called East Bay Playground along East Bay between Tradd and Water Streets, on the water side.
