Chicago's French Restaurants..??
If money IS an object, what French restrauant would you suggest for dinner. Some of the threads mentioned some dinners that cost over $75.00 each. Is that the best we can do? Do any have prix fix offerings that are more reasonable? We might try lunch another day at a French restrauant, if any are open at that time. Thank you for all your suggestions. You've been so helpful.

Try Bistro Zinc at 1100 N. State Street or Kiki's Bistro at 900 N. Franklin. Or, go to chireader.com and plug in your price limit, food style, and other requirements for a list of restaurant options.

Everest offers an early (5:30) three course menu for $49/person. It is one of the best restaurants in the city. Free valet parking. Also try Bistrot Margot (in Old Town) for bistro-French - they are open for lunch.

Had a great meal last night at La Tache in Andersonville. Very authentic feeling bistro, wonderful food and service. My husband and I had a drink each, appetizers, entrees, dessert and coffee for $100.
We also love Mon Ami Gabi (the one in Lincoln Park), Le Bouchon in Bucktown and Bistro Margot in Old Town. All very reasonable and wonderful. |
I've got to second Le Boucheon. Really great food, crowded, but worth it.

We also go to Brasserie Jo in River North--it's chef is the same chef as Everest which is likely the place you keep reading about with the $75 meals.

I second Kiki's.
