The two Embassy Suites are roughly equal distance from Michigan Ave., and only about two blocks difference north and south. It's not a huge difference, but I'd prefer the location of the Embassy Suites Downtown (not Lakefront) because it's on State Street, so much closer to the red line el (the nearest stop is just 1 block south). You're also closer there to walk to River North restaurants.
