Chicago - Where to Stay??

Traveling to Chicago in June (2 adults/2 kids). Visiting Navy Pier and area museums. Where to stay? Your feedback is appreciated.

Sounds like you need a suite hotel. Check out Doubletree, Fitzpatrick, both Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites. All are in the North Michigan Avenue neighborhood. Go to www.choosechicago.com for a hotel map; look under "Accommodations."

A North Michigan Avenue location is ideal for visiting Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, Oak Street Beach, and shopping along the Magnificent Mile. You will find that location is quite a distance from the Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, and the Museum of Science and Industry however. If museums are your focus, you might be better off staying near Grant Park, although this is an area with older hotel properties which may have smaller rooms and no budget suite options. I'd suggest taking a look at Best Western Grant Park, Congress Plaza, and Travelodge for reasonable priced accommodations in that area. The Holiday Inn City Centre would be another option close to North Michigan Avenue and it has enclosed parking and a pool! The museum campus is an easy bus ride from North Michigan Ave (No 146 I think?) We like Homewood Suites on East Grand.

There is a new Embassy suites in the Streeterville neighbborhood that would fit the bill.
