Chicago - Weber Grill Rest./Boat Tours
Our family will be vacationing in Chicago this week. The many posts and restaurant lists I have read include nothing about the Weber Grill Restaurant. It looked great when I saw it featured on the Food Network, but since it was not mentioned -- is it not worthwhile?
Also, we greatly enjoyed a "Ducky Tour" in Pittsburgh, but there are so many favorable comments about the Architectural Boat Tour and also the Sea Dog Boat Tour from the Navy Pier. Any comments -- for a family with boys (12 and 15)? We plan to take advantage of the City Pass, we look forward to sampling the pizza, seeing a Cubs game and the Tall Ships. Plenty to do! |
We were at the Weber Grill last Friday night and can say the grilled meat is wonderful! The clam chowder great and for six of us with drinks was about $150.00. We also enjoyed the Sea Dog Saturday afternoon! You get to do the River plus a speed boat ride on Lake Michigan. I would recommend this as all of us Adults and 2 children thought it to be great.

Hi. I took my kids on the MetroDuck tour last weekend. (girls 9 and 13) It was fun, silly, and a good basic tour of the city. The duck went into the water up near the Science/Tech Museum. That part wasn't much, but the guide was so cute-we laughed a lotand really enjoyed it. If the weather's bad, it would be tough. Be prepared for a bad hair day. My kids really enjoyed the Ancient Egypt exhibit at the Field Museum- all sorts of mummies, etc. Very cool.

Can you please let me know where the Weber Grill Restaurant is located? My husband will be there on a business trip next week and I know he would love it!

While in Chicago last summer, my sisiter and I took one of the two archictectural tours offered. It was great. It was so interesting to see Chicago's beautiful buildings from the river. I've been to Chicago hundreds of times and I've never seen it that way before.
One tour is longer than the other. I don't remember which one we were on, but I"m guessing they're both good. |
slf112,
I heartily recommend the Architectural Society tour. It is 90 minutes and narrated on board by a docent. Very informative. We took it just last week. You will need reservations! Tickets are $23.00/person. You can buy them at their retail store in the lower patio area of the John Hancock Building which you should also see, or buy them at the dock fairly early before the scheduled departure. Curious |
