Chicago to Seattle by train

I intend to make a new trip , Chicago to Seattle by train next September. The train ride is almost 48 hours, . I derived this distance before by car with my family, few years ago, and it was nice sightseeing, visiting Yellowstone park, etc , but it was a lot of driving, would it be worth to go this time by train? As regard the sightseeing?
Please advise

Hi gohadoc—

I have taken the Amtrak Empire Builder train twice from Chicago to Seattle in a roomette. A room for me is essential if I’m doing an overnight. You pass through some gorgeous scenery, especially western Montana and points west but also parts of Wisconsin. When I did it, wine and cheese tastings were offered from the states along the journey and there was a social element in the dining car, but that was pre-pandemic so not sure what it’s like now. I had a great time but I like and seek out this kind of adventure and can sleep on a train. It’s not for everyone—some people don’t like it for a variety of reasons such as they feel too constrained, can’t sleep or get bored, to name a few. What fun to have this option to consider!

Best wishes, Daniel

Daniel_Williams has nailed it!
I'll just add that I found the scenery spectacular.
