chicago to boston

I was thinking of going from Chicago to Boston on my next trip. What are the options for travelling between the 2 cities?I want to know if it is worth while taking a train for cost or if airfare is affordable.I am going in April, thx in advance.

We fly BOS-ORD very often. Fares range anywhere from $158 (rarely) to ~$375. You just have to see if there is a good price when you want to go. Don't know for sure but think train tends to be pricey.

And the train would take forever. I'd definately fly. If you are going to Boston proper you'll have to fly into the city. Usually when I go I'm visiting family in New Hamphire and I fly southwest to Manchester from Midway. However a quick search from Chicago to Boston reveals flights currently around $225.

ATA just stopped flying between the 2 cities. I just took United bos-O'hare and it was a great price, but I don't remember what it was. Something like $150-185. Delta is starting up between Bos and I think Midway. Not sure when it starts, but that will be great. I'm sure it will be up and running by the time you come to Boston. good luck!

That's a very competitive air route, with hourly flights on the major carriers and fares under $250; one way fares are also widely available. Driving would be 15-plus hours, and the train would take at least a day and a half.
